Privacy Policy
Expenditur is a personal expense tracker. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what data it collects, why, and who, if anyone, it's shared with. Short version: your financial data is yours, it's never sold, and it's only used to run the app you're using.
01What we collect
Only what's needed to run an expense tracker. Nothing is collected for advertising or resale.
Account info
Email address, and your name or profile photo if you sign in with Google or Apple. Used to create and secure your account.
Financial data
Expense amounts, dates, merchants, categories, and any budget target you set. This is the core content of the app, and it's what the app exists to store.
Receipts and statements
Photos or PDFs you choose to upload are sent once to an AI service to extract line items, then discarded. They are not stored as images or documents on our servers.
Diagnostic data
Crash reports and error logs (device model, OS version, app version) if the app crashes, so we can fix it.
Support messages
If you use the in-app Help form, your message and account email are sent to the developer so we can respond.
02How it's used
Every use ties back to a feature you're actually using: signing you in, showing your spending history, extracting a receipt you uploaded, converting an amount into your home currency, sending a one-time sign-in code to your email, keeping your home-screen widgets in sync, and diagnosing a crash if one happens. Nothing here is used to build an advertising profile, and there is no advertising in Expenditur.
03Who processes it
A handful of infrastructure providers run parts of the app on our behalf. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
Anthropic
Reads the receipt photos, PDFs, and text you submit to extract expense line items. Not used to train models on your data.
Neon
Hosts the Postgres database your account and expenses live in.
Vercel
Hosts the backend API the app talks to.
Google and Apple
Handle sign-in if you choose those options. Expenditur never sees your password.
Resend
Delivers one-time sign-in codes to your email address.
Sentry
Receives crash and error reports so bugs can be fixed.
Frankfurter
Provides daily exchange rates. It receives currency codes only, never your amounts or identity.
Telegram
Delivers a notification to the developer when a new account is created (your email address) and when you send a Help message, so support requests are seen quickly.
04What we don't do
05Retention and deletion
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual expenses or categories at any time in the app.
06Your choices
You control what goes into Expenditur. Nothing is collected passively in the background beyond crash diagnostics. Camera and photo access are only requested when you choose to attach a receipt, and Face ID (if enrolled on your device) adds a lock on top of your account sign-in. If you're in a region with statutory data rights, such as the EU's GDPR or California's CCPA, you can exercise access, correction, or deletion rights by contacting us below.
07Children
Expenditur is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
08Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. For questions, concerns, or a deletion request, email prateekkher28@gmail.com.
